The content of our year 9 curriculum continues to provide learners with the ability to talk about themselves as well as others and the world around them building on language and structures learnt in year 8. In year 9 there is a focus on embedding the ability to communicate in different tenses (past, present and future). In terms 5 and 6 of year 9 we begin the GCSE course covering the first topic Me, my family and friends which will be of future relevance to those not continuing at GCSE.

- Holidays - comparing places as they are now and how they used to be, talking about what you did on holiday, how you travelled and what the weather was like.
- Talking about film preferences and programmes you watch on the TV, discussing your reading preferences and talking about screen time.
- Talking about typical German breakfasts and traditional German food, understanding and using recipes, talking about healthy lifestyles.
- Understanding rules in a youth hostel and discussing daily routine, understanding and giving directions, describing a festival.
- Begin GCSE Course - Me, my family and friends and personal relationships.
