The content of our year 9 curriculum continues to provide learners with the ability to talk about themselves as well as others and the world around them building on language and structures learnt in year 8. In year 9 there is a focus on embedding the ability to communicate in different tenses (past, present and future). In terms 5 and 6 of year 9 we begin the GCSE course covering the first topic Me, my family and friends which will be of future relevance to those not continuing at GCSE.

- Talking about what you wear on different occasions and expressing opinions
- Talking about Media and TV and expressing TV and film preferences, talking about what’s on the TV and when, arranging to meet up with a friend
- Describing how you usually celebrate your birthday and how you celebrated it last year, key celebration days in Italy and how you will celebrate your birthday in the future and using the future tense to describe a future party
- Begin the GCSE course - Me, my family and friends and personal relationships
